So you think the best place for buying your fresh protein is the supermarket? Well think again! Meal prep can be a real pain at the best of times, cooking fresh and healthy meals on Sundays or after work to keep your nutrition on track. I’m always looking for ways to speed this up, make things quicker or more efficiently. After all, we’d all rather be working out or actually eating rather than cooking!

Which brings me on to the reason for this post – the nice team at Myprotein got in touch to ask if I’d like to try their brand new range of premium red, white and exotic meats. Myprotein are of course known for their wide range of great value protein powders and supplements but now they’re moving into the territory of shops like Muscle Food with these new products.

So what’s it all about?

  • High quality, premium meat
  • Delivered direct to your door in refrigerated packaging
  • Individually wrapped for easy freezing and preparation
  • Generous portions
  • Great value Myprotein prices

But is it any good?

The million dollar question. Myprotein have all the usual fresh sources of protein like chicken, steak and tuna but they also have a few more unusual choices. So I went for something a bit different including Mahi Mahi steak (like tuna, ultra-lean, low fat), Swordfish (a great, really ‘meaty’ fish) and also some diced buffalo meat (just for the hell of it!).

I have to say it all tasted amazing and one of the best things about deliveries like this is how convenient it is to freeze and defrost the individually wrapped portions ready for the next day – no messing around with supermarket multi-packs. And with 500g of diced turkey for £2.99, value for money is up there with the best. Having bought from Muscle Food as well in the past, I think Myprotein have a winner here, especially when you consider there is no minimum order value so you can buy whatever you want. A great addition to your clean eating nutrition.
